Default Could I have a snail problem?

This morning my daughter noticed a tiny little snail in my 30g. I have seen tiny snails that are problems for FW tanks. Is this the begining of a 'pest' snail outbreak? Or could it just be a hitchhiker that is nothing to worry about?

Thanks

If you have some larger snails in the tank they could be breeding or they may be hitchhikers from the rock. In any case nothing to worry about.

I've got around 100 cerith snails in my 40, I bought 2 and they've been maiking babies ever since. I have no problem with it, they are all over the glass when it's dirty, but when it's clean they live in the sand and sift.

Mike, if it does become a problem, there are people like me and my others who have mantis shrimp that love to dine on snails

Are these the tiny little snails that look sort of like mini turbos? If so they are harmless, but eventually they may get to a point where you will want to take some out. They come out after dark, and thats a good time to remove some. They will be all over your glass.
