Default Need help to choose water pump

I have one 230 gal tank with one overflow (2" hole, about 1.5" bulkhead) and 80 gal sump. This is for freshwater, I am going to have discus, altum angel and clown loach in this tank. First tank with overflow so need help.

Which water pump should I buy? flow rate?

How about RIO 20HF? Will this be good enough?

Does anyone use RIO 20HF? How good is it?

Thank you.

IMHO Rio's are crap.
I would use a Quietone 6000 if you want to go submersible.
I use a QO4000 on my tank and I have to use a diverter due to too much flow, but a 6000 should suffice for your tank.

I use a Genx Mak 4 and have found it very reliable and efficient. They are also are reasonably priced. It is not submersible though. Should work great for your application. I also have had bad long term success with rio. Work fine for a year or two but usually fail after that. IMO
