Going Back to Socks 🧦
My new build will utilize 2x 7” filter socks in the sump. I was just wondering if there is any benefit of the nylon over the micron socks? What socks are you currently running? I also noticed for micron they sell 100 and 200. Looking to purchase these online, interested in your feedback as I am without socks on my current setup.

I use the bulk filter pads...easier to change out, don't have to wash them.
The mesh socks seem to pull less out than felt socks, even if they are 100 micron. They are much easier to wash though - you can wash them by hand. The felt socks need to be washed in a machine with hot water (no soap) and bleach if you want. |

I only have ever used nylon and basically the only advantage I could see is they're seemingly easier to clean. the main drawback for me (and the reason I gave up on filter socks altogether) was how quickly the seams blew and the sock became useless.

I will probably end up going with a bunch of micron socks as I will wash them when needed. Is the 100 or 200 better for everyday use?
