![]() Noob question, but I have just started to try this method. from my reading online, is it correct that regardless what my alk level is compared to cal, I need to dose both A and B equally with the rational that raising the calcium will drop the alk to desired levels?

![]() yes.... that's the way 2 part works...
get your calcium and alk where you want be manual dosing... then starting your auto dose,,, measure,, wait a week,,, adjust rinse repeat..

![]() Correct me if I am wrong, I think it depends on what 2-part you are using, for some commercial 2-part you do need to dose equally but for BRS/home-made ones you don;t

![]() k thanks. That's what I bought, but since they do not have a mg I will be using the tech-m on top.
guess i'll also have to invest in a dosing pump lol |

![]() Tech-M isn't a very good solution long-term. You'll use the whole bottle and it won't do hardly anything because Mg isn't horribly soluble. If one of you LFS carries Aquaforest or Brightwell, they both have dry powder options that are much cheaper in the long-run.

![]() Yes. J&L has Brightwell. I think they're carrying Aquaforest too. I know Reef Supplies has Aquaforest...not sure if they have the full line.

![]() With c-balance mag is usually around the 1200-1300 range in my tank (a bit too low for what I like )so I add mag, cheapest solution is going to be the bulk ones in my experience...
I add mag, but really wondering if it is necessary when dosing 2 parts balling method... I also find that in my tank have to add potassium and strontium ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
