Pump failed! Now what?
So I have been working out of town and when I got home today I noticed that my biopellets where not tumbling,so I checked everything out and noticed that my pump failed.
So I need to know if I should dump out the biopellets and start fresh with new beads. |

Open it up and smell it....if it just stink of death than toss it and restart with new pellets, I would say if the pump died 24 hours or less you might have a slight chance of saving the bacteria but I would just restart. BTW, you can just rinse off the pellets and re-use them.

Ya I'm not sure how long it's been off anywhere between 1-4 days
I haven't opened it yet but the water looks cloudy. Don't think I want to take chance for the price of the pellets I should just dump them out and start over.better than fighting any problems that could arise. Is it gonna take another 4-6 weeks for them to start working again? |

Yes it will take 4-6 weeks for them to work again if you get new ones. Just rinse them really well in old tank water until they don't stink anymore. They'll be back to life in no time.

I've already tossed them out. Well I guess I'll start them over with new ones. Thank you |
