![]() I would wait a few days for the antibiotics if it's still eating. Most of the time external wounds can heal by themselves given clean environment and good diets.

![]() I would keep him on his own if you want to put the other fish in the DT. After you're finished treating him with whatever meds (sorry read the thread really fast) do a couple water changes. Clean SW is one of the best things to help fish heal. If the swelling isn't subsiding or healing then think about antibiotics but back to back, this stuff is hard on them. What do you have in the tank that he could be abrading his mouth on, maybe the cut end of a piece of PVC or something??

![]() I've seen this happen a couple of times... I would keep him in QT until the lips heal. I've had mine hurt her lips during catch/transfer process to the DT and she didn't make it because I opted not to go fishing and stress everyone out. Seeing as the fish is already in QT you might as well keep it where you can keep a closer eye on things and make sure he keeps eating.
+1 to what George said, wait a little before medicating with anti-bacterial. Pristine water quality is also super important when it comes to infection. |

![]() Ok thanks yea I'll leave him in hope he keeps eating he's in a 20g qt and been getting fresh WC every 3 days with the tank transfer and now I'll do a 5g wc every few days of it's just him in there and hold off on medicating till needed

![]() Are the rest of the fish in the QT with the Kole? If so, I wouldn't put the other fish in the DT yet, as the Kole may be infectious, and the other fish may be vectors. If it was me, I would be starting QT time over from the day the Kole looks healed.
