MR-C4848 experience?

Hi,

I have three tanks 135g, 150g, and 240g. I wanted to hook them all up to one system and was considering getting the MR-C4848. Anyone have any experience with these? I was looking at the older version which is much taller than the new ones they are producing now, I also read that large skimmers like these are outdated.
