Talking Tank Cycled

Hi guys,

So i started my first tank. Its a 40 gallon breeder with a DIY stand. I'll post pictures once my light comes in which should be sometime next week. I've got about 40 pounds of marco rock in there with an inch and a half of fine sand. I'm running a Tunze 9004 skimmer on it and I only realized after I bought it how sensitive it is to changes in the water level. I'll probably be investing in some sort of top off system soon.

I'm using plain Instant Ocean right now which I was told would be fine for most softies.

In the mean time just thought I'd share some data i collected over the last two weeks.

PH was 8.2 and alkalinity at 12 dkh.
