clumping biopellets
I'm running approx 2 cups of pellets in a vertex reactor, plumbed into my return. After running for a month, they get stuck together and mess up
the even flow. If I shake the reactor, they loosen up for a while. Any suggestions for prevention. The water feed is open all the way. |

Clumping usually means there is not enough flow through the reactor.

I've had a few customers complain about the Vertex brand bio-pellets.
After they switched to the Two Little Fishies brand, clumping was no longer an issue.

I use the Vertex all the time and the only time i get clumpy pellets is when the flow is not sufficient enough to keep them moving around. When they get clumped I just rinse them in RO water really good & put them back in reactor increasing the flow so they are really churning.
