UV sterilizer in reef tanks

Should I be using UV sterilizer or not and the reasons for either choice

Hey! I never "LEFT" the hobby, just doing fresh water now. Which is still listed as part of Canreef if I'm not mistaken.

I say no, my thinking is that a lot of microfauna that corals feed on would be removed.
