Check out the new Tunze silence line of pumps. They look really good. and build quality is topnotch. but the flow might be a little much (2900)

red dragon will be the top of the list for its quiet operation, tunze is next inline, eheim 1262 a bit lower flow but it reliable and quiet. I know there are more pumps out there that fit the bill but those are the three I have used and are extremely happy with them.

The reviews of the RLSS DC5000 say it is very quiet. I'm not sure where to get it in Canada though.

I'm looking at power consumption a for pumps. How can some pumps get 200gph with 90 watts while others use 200 watts for 2000gph

I believe the biggest difference is between A/C versus D/C control. The Red Dragons, etc...have always been good power savers versus the output.
