Default Radion vs halide help

I switched from halide to radion and now I'm seeing tissue loss on Sps.

Please help. Not sure what to do

Not sure what kind of intensity you are running with and how high are the lights hanging awl? Is your sps bleaching or losing tissue and lastly what was the wattage of your halides that you swapped out with.

I had 250w Mh 20k

Lights are 10" above tank @ 60%

And it's tissue loss on granulosa and garf bonsi

Just wanna eliminate any other possibilities before we jump the gun and blame the new lighting. Usually when sps are getting too much light it will start to bleach instead of tissue lost. How old were the halides that you have been running? Did you add new carbon to the system lately? Sorry about all the questions but you know its hard to determine the cause before we get more facts.

Well put, any possible alk swings as well?

Radions are notorious for bleaching coral off the bat, that being said photos would really help in this situation.

K. I set up a cube tank. Took Rick and water from existing tank. And also added 5 gallons of fresh mix ro water. No carbon or gfo yet.

Bulbs from other system were replaced may 5th. All water perameters are good.
I dosed old system every three days so I don't suspect alk

I use salinity salt and salinity is at 1.025

I am doing a water change as I have always scheduled before adding prodibio

The only thing I can suspect is that corals were on frag rack of old tank while I pulled rocks up to put in new tank possibly contaminating water. While I did this I primed water. And coral was only there long enough to allow cube to clear.

I'm not suspecting lights but don't want to rule them out

60% from the start is high. You need to really tone it down and take your time to raise them to 60%. Ecotech LED's are extremely bright. Light shock will kill your corals in 2 days, where not enough light will kill them in 2 months.

I had 6 x ATI T5 over my tank and when I swapped them our for sunbrite LED's I really took my time to ramp them up. 2 months later they are still at about 50%

Here is how slow I acclimated mine...

I dont think the issue has anything to do with lighting......the tank is brand new......it doesnt matter if the rock and water came from your tank or not......I started a 25g tank that I plumbed in to my main display, all the water and rock came from the display....the rock literally was only out of the water for about 10 seconds and I still got a big algae bloom in the new tank.......my guess would be unstable conditions are what is causing the tissue loss.....
