![]() So I have been waging a gentleman's war with the nation of Aptasia for some time now. They'd take some of my men, I'd take some of theirs - 'twas quite droll and all in good fun. However, those sneaky buggers sent a battalion flanking to my left and crushed a number of my poor chaps from the island of Zoa, obviously with little respect for gentlemen's rules.
So now the gloves are off and I'm going for scorched earth. I need a zapper stat! I was hoping someone around here would be willing to trade a pack of beer for letting me kick some aptasia ass for a while. Let me know what you've got! |

![]() A syringe with straight vinegar or 30% hydrogen peroxide in it works pretty good, more of a sniper approach.

![]() I've used lemon juice, but I was sloppy, so it was more of a dirty bomb approach
I didn't mention all the methods as I gather Steve has probably tried most tricks |

![]() Ah yes, my sappers. Yes, they've been missing in action for several fortnight. I believe they may have had a misadventure with the rogue entity that is my resident mantis (that was a separate battle that ended in a tense truce). I'm afraid to sacrifice more needlessly.

![]() I have tried:
Kalk paste - works well for the small one on flat and accessible surface. Makes a mess on vertical surface and doesn't cover the entire aptasia, so they usually come back. and I can't really use it in the area packed with corals. Crazy glue - work well if you can take the piece out of the water, and cover then entire aptasia. Razor and tooth brush - work well out of the tank, but, have to rinse it really well, to make sure no living tissue get back on the rock. Copper band butterfly - have to make sure they live first, I have tried 3 copper band already, first two last only few days. 3rd one?? have it close to 2 months now, alive and fat(for a copper band). Had a infestation of soft tube feather duster, which it clean out and that's probably what kept it alive. It doesn't even touch aptasia, thinking maybe because it's afraid to get caught by my loonie size aptasia and eaten by it instead. But its starting to pick on frozen food at least.
