Default Buying Clowns

When buying 2 clowns, do they need to be male/female? Or will any 2 be ok together?

I'm not 100% sure, but one (usually the bigger dominant one )will turn female.

Buy one bigger one, and then the smallest one of the same species you can find. They all start as males and turn into females. The other thing to look for is interactions between clowns. Sometimes they pair up in the dealers tank. The buying one big and one really small has always worked for me, and they have always paired up.

I just bought 2 on sat. They are only 5 months old, and quite small. One is "slightly" bigger than the other. They were bought from OA, and so far in my tank, they seem to hang out together, even tho they were in a tank of about 40 of them

Bought a 2nd Ocellaris yesterday - a male about half the size of the resident female, who had been alone for 6 months. They showed the appropriate behaviours right away. She seems fond of him already, and he showed her what the BTA is for.

Well that more than answers my questions! Thanks! I think I'll pick up a pair tommorow.
