Default Today is Earth Day: April 22nd

With today being Earth Day I reviewed my Hydro Bill since I changed over to LEDs and I am quite pleased to see that my consumption has dropped from 2,419 kW/h to 1,984 kW/h. It also means a reduction on my bill of about $45 over a two month period. I have also see a significant drop on water evaporation of fifteen gallon of water. It will still take me about five years (I have also factored the cost of MH and T5 light bulb replacements) to breakeven based on today's Hydro rate but I am doing my part in the enviromental movement.

Since my LEDs have been up I haven't really seen a reduction in my energy usage but I have also received my new t5 shop lighting to replace the 6 large MH fixtures. Also looking into LED replacement bulbs for all my yard lights. Then it will be time to see if I can find some DC powered pumps to run my pool & well water room.

I didn't drive anywhere today and instead opted to lay in bed reading a book, well lit by natural sunlight streaming in through the windows. But I'm not going to lie, I probably would have done that anyway regardless of Earth day.

Also placed an order for 1300 tree seedlings. Next weekend we will be planting up a storm around the acreage.

We sat in front of the big screen all day with the surround on watching movies. Then I moved into the office and watched the game on a second TV while playing on the PC.
I didn't even notice it was Earth Day until about half an hour ago
But we didn't drive .....
