Default Overflow

I've decided to upgrade to an older 80g tank I have laying around. Its already drilled but has no overflow in it. I'm wondering what thickness of glass to use for it. Would 1/4" glass be enough to stand up to the pressure? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have used 1/4" with no problems on a corner overflow. It will be fine as long as its not like a 12" wide overflow.
