![]() So when making a new batch of sw for wc, i added salt first(last bit of bucket) then added water. im using h2o, now water hasnt cleared up, its about 25gals of water, now can i still use this for wc or will this stay cloudy and mess things up? the total tank water is 130gal.
thanks |

![]() With heat and enough flow I can't see the order in which you add stuff mattering all too much. My water is cloudy for an hour or so after adding my salt in the regular order...

![]() I agree, get some heat and flow in there and that water will clear up shortly.

![]() The reason you are supposed to add salt to water, and not the other way around, is the fact that slowly adding water to the salt can lead to an over-concentration of elements which can cause precipitation. If you dumped the water into the bucket, and it wasn't added slowly (like with a RO line), precipitation shouldn't be an issue though. How long has it been mixing?

![]() I don't wait for the cloudiness to clear. I just dump it in. Fish/coral don't seem to care either.

![]() Worst thing that can happen, even with precipitation, is your parameters will be a little low. Probably not a big deal.

![]() how big is your tank....? I know sometimes with my salt it never fully clears (salt to water ratio) and I just make sure the reading is okay and go ahead with the water change! if you're not in a rush, give it until tomorrow!

![]() I found H2Ocean to be cloudy after mixing. As everyone else says, just mix it with a pump and heater and you're golden (should be doing that anyways for water changes). The order shouldn't matter.
