I came across a little shrimp/crab thingy today. Translucent green, compact, quickly tapering body and TWO long popeye style arms. Total length is about 3/4". Makes clicking noises if you go near it (I have it in a bucket). It isn't a Pistol Shrimp. Never seen anything like it. Any ideas??

Ron, Adam meant put it IN the mantis tank. Not it IS a mantis. It is absolutely NOT a mantis. I have a couple in a species tank, it isn't one of them.
This thing has arms that stick straight out and are as long as the body for a total of 3/4 inches.

Adam, until I know it isn't friendly, it won't become mantis chow.

Just looking for the ID of a couple sea slugs/nudibranchs I found on my front glass today and came across this PIC and it reminded me of what you described... probably way off though.

MAK, you're about as close as you could get without seeing it. Not the exact same species, but very close cousins. Thanks.

Now to figure out how safe it is.
