Your apple pie was certainly one of the very best that Tim and I've had!!
Hard to beat Betty's Peach pie, though.

But you can bake me apple pies ANYTIME! AND smokin' awesome ribs, too!

Next time, you do the cooking!

Ummm, one nice thing about hosting these things...left-over pies!!! and ice cream!! and jars of homemade BBQ sauces, and left-overs...(even beers. We'll hold them for another 24 hours, Craig, then them long-necks are all mine!!).

Yeah. At first we were going to do the right thing, by numbering the plates, and putting little pieces on them so we can have a fair assessment.

That went out the window when Pam took over the distribution of the pies. All show of orderly decorum gone!!

We all grabbed our pies and piled ice cream on the sides and off we went, wolfing them down and in pie-heaven! Should have seen the carnage on my table!! Took me 1/2 hour the next morning to clean the crumbs and sticky fillings off!

We were not very orderly when Fencer's smoked ribs came out either. Betty didn't want to share. They were pretty awesome ribs. I don't even think that the Greens had any to even try!

Betty and Craig then talked about their skills with a turkey fryer. Got us all drooling for the next cook-off.

Then the red-neck side really showed when Tim started the fire with gasoline, and the crowd just went, "Ooooooh, NICE!"

Rob and his boys spend most of the evening playing in the garage.

It was a very memorable evening. Will do it again in a heart beat.
But I think that Fencer deserves a big thank you for organizing the event.
Fun times.

Thanks to Tim and Lenny for hosting the first ever 'reefer' pie contest/bbq. The event had a wonderful turn out with lots of pies and bbq sauce and of course...FOOD!!! We will definitely have to do this again...and soon...especially what Craig and Betty are suggesting to do for the next time. I think everybody enjoyed themselves immensely!!! Too bad my mom couldn't have been here...as one of her 'pies' was included also. Ohh well, I guess she will have to make plans to come back here!!! She is not a 'reefer' person but proved to be pretty funny when after I told her that the 'prize' was a frag, she asked "What's a frag"??? I gotta love my mom lol.

Congratulations to Betty for having the most awesome pie.....although I think that all the pies were very good, but the peach was definitely a prize winner for sure! Thank you to Wayne for providing the 'prize' it is indeed incredible looking and also for getting this event all started. I can hardly wait for the next one!!!! As for the ribs...there was too much food there already and we couldn't even try all that was there although everything looked very appetizing. Thank you Betty, for the sample of your bbq sauce....and it is in such a pretty jar!!!

We would definitely like to be included in the next get together of this sort!!!

Well, had my camera out, but didn't get further than taking some pics of Betty and Craig on their fear-inspiring bikes! The bikes were very chromed and shiny.

Camera was forgotten soon after that. Got busy with the salads, and eating.
Sorry Dawn.
