![]() I've got a small six line wrasse in my QT. He has been in for 3 days now. When I bought him he looked fine, but must have caught himself on something between netting at the LFS and the first day in the QT. The skin has lifted a bit and there is definite swelling. It also seems to be redening. Should I add something for slimecoat? Can I buy antibiotics at the LFS in Canada or do you have to go through a vet?
I also have a coral beauty in there. If I do use antibiotics should I take him out or just let him build up an imunity to the drugs? Cheers, Al |

![]() Well if it's a wound that is infected you might want to try some antibiotics. For what its worth, my blennie spent an undetermined amount of time stuck in a powerhead, and was pretty badly bruised by the time we got him out (He had a huge ring all around the circumfrance of his upper body). We decided to let it heal naturally and all was fine. He just needed to shed some scales, etc.

![]() Called AI today and they recommended MelaFix. This morning he was in pretty rough shape. Fast breathing and canted to one side. The stuff has been in the tank for about 3 hours now and the abrasion looks better already. Not sure if he is going to live yet. Wish I had added this stuff 2 days ago instead of waiting to see what happened.
Is there a "good" way to euthinize? Al |
