![]() Question.....I have three chambers in my sump....recently removed my filter socks because they are annoying and my wife claims she finds "shrimp and star fish" in her washing machine....
![]() I want to add LR in my sump into the middle compartment....I was thinking my skimmer should be placed in the chamber where my tank drains to...max skimming I would think and then off to the LR and then to return pump/GFO/Carbon and Bio pellets. Is my logic sound? Thanks for your input Tony

![]() Yep skimmer compartments are usually first. You are running both GFO and pellets? Do you have phospate problems?

![]() Sorry to hijack, but do you guys find that the flow rate through the skimmer compartment affects the skimmer's efficiency?
If so, is low flow better than high flow?

![]() make sure you syphon your return area during waterchanges. without socks you get alot of build up, esspecially in a tank with lots of fish
