Default Giesemann Ballast

I have a Gieseman Spectra 250W and had a electronic ballast die. Has anyone done a retrofit on a giesemann to use a different Brand of Ballast (i.e. IceCap) Also does the light output look different if you have two Different Ballasts?

Is there anywhere in Calgary that carries Giesemann ballasts? I know tones of stores can order them but I would like to get my light working as soon as possible.

I know a certain LFS on 16th actually stocks these fixtures...you might get lucky there as well but I doubt anyone will have just these ballasts in stock.

The ballasts are external so a little splicing should be all that's needed. I'm not sure if the gman units have transformers to accommodate their specific ballasts tho so it might not be that simple.

There is a thread on RC where someone did a ballast swap on an Infiniti that might help you as well.
