![]() Hi there,
I would like to start a project to make my own LED fixture with LED lights. I'm planing to setup a 90 gals sps tank. how many LEDs do I need to grow sps corals in a 90 gals reef tank? What about optics? I'm thinking about 80 degree optics? what do you guys think? Tank measures: 4ft Long, 2ft tall and 1 1/2f wide (front to back) so this tank is kind of deep I think. Any advices from people that already did some LED work, would be much appreciated. Thanks, Manny |

![]() Tough question unless you know what LED's you plan to use. I'm planning to build a fairly large LED light for my future tank and plan to use CREE LED's. I believe that for 24 inches deep you would be okay with 60-80 degree optics as long as you used enough lights. As for how many lights, again that depends upon the type of LEDs
