Default sump advice?

i notice tonight that there were tiny bubbles on top of the water in the sump. i only divide it into 2 compartments,1 for drain and the other one where the return pump and skimmer sits. Basically you barely see water movement at this compartment. do i need to put power head just to have movements and prevent the tiny bubbles..or are this normal and nothing to worry about??

thanks in advance

teddy

the bubbles aren't an issue. What you may find an issue is if your return pump and skimmer are in the same compartment, the varying water level will interfere with the efficiency of the skimmer.

+1 on wingedfish, your skimmer will work best at a constant water level, so having it with the return can cause issues. If you can fit your skimmer in your return compartment it should help a lot. Even the best skimmers have some bubbles come out of them, and if they get to your return pump they get chopped up and show up in the DT.
