![]() Air pump suggestion
I am currently running two Hagen Optima air pumps for my DIY Co-Counter Current air stone skimmer. One air pump is not enough for the bubble to rise to the top. Can any of you suggest a strong enough replacement ? I would like to run only one air pump instead of two. Thank you

![]() FYI it's pretty noisy, I wouldn't use it unless it's isolated away from your living space. You could also try a Rena Air 400 which is probably closer to two of what you're already using and would be quieter as it's still a diaphragm pump, the Coralife is a piston pump just like a compressor.

![]() I can vouch for the Rena Air 400, using one on my air diffuser skimmer, although my system & skimmer are a tad smaller than yours. It has two outlets, both controllable, I run it wide open & it's quiet. Using a single large self made basswood air diffuser and I run the two lines into one with air check valves.

![]() Thank you,
The skimmer is located in the access room behind the tank, but I would rather keep it as quiet as possible. The rena air 400 might be the way to go
