Default Pretty Dumb Question

So how do you open the bucket of reef crystals? It has a new lid and I cant figure out an easy way to open it after struggling for 5-10 mins... Do I need to cut it at all or whats the deal?

LOL most lids nowadays you have to remove the bottom 1cm usually by pulling the strip off then just pry up on the 6 or so tabs... What brand? Picture?

Its different from both lids you guys have described. Theres no tab to pull on that would remove a 1 inch strip, and the old screw ones, which Im familiar are no longer being used, apparently...

This new one is basically just like a sleek kind of looking lid that doesnt budge...

I think this one is just missing the tab or something, maybe a defective lid, there seems to be a seem that a tab would open along. I'll figure it out. Might just have to hack job this one.

If there is a seam then get the side cutters out and make a tab to pull on...

Try hitting the inside ridge on the top of the lid with a hammer, if it's a twist top lid, or hit the bottom of the lid in an upwards motion with a hammer if it's a pull off lid.

Have one of the new pails (not the hammer type), pulled the tab and about 1/2 the circumference came off and appeared to break clean but couldn't open. Ends up the all of it all needs to come off but needed side cutters to restart.
