Default Hammer coral!

Recently bought a wall hammer coral from bayside a couple weeks ago, and noticed a bit of the skeleton showing when i bought it. Not sure if it was unhealthy or if was part of the coral when being fragged from the ocean original. Just worried about this semi expensive piece. Everything in check as far as levels go and everything else in tank doing fine. Question is if part of the skeleton is showing does that mean it will die slowly or can corals such as this green wall hammer coral repair itself? If u need a pic just let me know i can take one. But im sure you can imagine what it looks like. Thanks
