![]() You will want to use a primer (removes the "shine" from the PVC) followed by cement. The correct primer is purple and the correct cement is grey. These are rated for pressure-rated plumbing. There is also clear primer and cement but these are for electrical. You can usually get away with using the clear cement because all PVC cements are basically the same but the primer needs to be the purple stuff. The clear primer is a primer/cleaner and is just a cleaner for PVC but a primer for ABS.
In low pressure systems using Sch 40 you could probably get away with clear/clear but you need to use lots of cement. No matter what you do, don't be skimpy on the primer or cement. Lather it on. |
