Default Tek Light Hanger

Anybody have any ideas on hanging an 8 bulb Tek? I can't go into the celing because there's nothing to drill into. I was thinking about a steel pipe mounted to the right side rear corner then extending over the top. Any ideas?

what do you mean theres nothing to drill into? Use Drywall anchor's.
this kind will work perfect.

rated for 25# ea I do belive... So if the light weigh's 20 Lbs, then 2 hangers, they only hold 10Lbs ea. I see no problems there. If you want even more strength, go with the Toggle Bolts, but threaded in drywall anchors will be plenty IMO

You can also put a shelf up on the wall above the tank and hang the lights from there.

I use threaded in drywall anchors all the time I do have aluminum type but that is all the thread is a bit wider but work the same. I use them for a kiddy gate and my youngest used to climb over it so I took it down, she was about 40# at that point. I use them to mount shelves I can all ways get one end into studs but not the other end. coat hangers have them also this house was built in the 70's they must have had different building codes back them because where we build with 16 inch centers they put 20 and 24 in centers. So I would not see a problem using them...

You have absolutely no studs in the ceilings at all?? I'm about to hang a couple of 6 bulb T5 lights. Instead of hanging them from the drywall, I ran a couple of 2x4s accross the ceiling (pretty much the length of the light so that I could hit at least a couple studs) and drilled the 2x4s into the studs of the ceiling, then drill hooks into the 2x4 and hang the lights from that.

The tank's in the basement also. If it was upstairs I'd be able to get into the attic to install more studs.

well, you can install a stringer spanning between 2 studs. Take a piece of 1x4, stain or paint it nice. Have seen that done lots. if painting it same color as ceiling, you hardly notice it.
