Default Kalk reactor users.. I have a question.

Ok, can I have a kalk reactor gravity fed from a RO/DI resvoir with a float valve at the bottom in my sump? I dont want to get into soleniods and electric auto-top off gimmicks.

I figure this way is easier/more failsafe.

I agree it is easier, but am not too sure if we can say this delivery method is "more failsafe".
I have been doing similar thing for close to a year now - so far, everything is fine. The main thing is to make sure that the float valve outlet is inspected and cleaned regularly (i.e. weekly)

yup you can, just remember you have to clean your float valve once and a while. This is the way mine is set up.

Ok thanks guys. Well I was thinking it's more failsafe it I only have a few gallons of water in the resivoir that way if my float messes up it won't nuke the tank as bad.

What about using a Nilsen reactor fed from your RO/DI, but also through a LiterMeter or Vario doser preset for dosing so many minutes a day without the float switch?
