Default RO question

I decrease my ro unit membrane from 100 gpd to 75 gpd. The orig membrane from aquasafe was faulty. Decreasing to 75 gpd membrane, do i need to change my flow restrictor?

Yes, They are cheap online. I have found one for 1.50 and small enough to fit in an envelope.
If you do not change the FR, then you will be wasting more water than needed down the drain.

how long ago did you buy your unit? i had some problems with mine too. I had to get my unit replaced and still not 100% satisfied. Im thinking about buying a new membrane myself.

cheers

Yes you have to have waste water! Having it turned off will shorten your membranes life very fast.

The waste line runs because it is extra water that can not be pushed threw the membrane so it takes the dirt/waste water away from the membrane. Which in return prolongs the life of the membrane. When its not running the dirt is just building up on the input side of the membrane which in return clogs it faster and resulting you in you buying a new membrane much sooner.

We have a zero waste system that we will have on out site very soon. This system will recirculate the waster water back into your house system. Resulting in zero waste ro and ro/di!
