Default lighting?

What would you say is the best light for macro algea in a refugium or fuge?

a cheap light would be a compact flourescent, screw in, daylight, 6500 deg Kelvin, from home depot.

I do have a floresent light it is not a screw in type it is one that I can mount ot the underside of my stand I can change the tub to a marine bulb or some thing else the tub is only about 16"s in length do they make them for marine tanks that small.
