Dumb question regarding scrapers.....and scratches

Is there a good - better - best for these? My tank is 2 feet deep and I find it hard to get right down there sometimes to clean properly and effectively with my 2' blade cleaner I use. It is a glass aquarium with starphire on the viewing sides. Is there a particular brand to stay away from due to scratching or is it all technique?

I have a small scratch (I think likely due to LR coming into contact)...is there anyway to fix it?
