Default Tek Light t5

Ordered my 8 Bulb t5 set up from you guys last week.
Only took a day or 2 and it was here! Got bulbs in it now and absolutly love it. Thanks so much.
When I can convince the wife to upgrade my skimmer, I'll be visiting your website again.

yep 48" and I got 4 actinics and 4 11000k. the actinics come on at 12:30, then the whites come on at 1:30. The whites shut of at 11:30pm and the actinics at 12:30.
I was running a power compact prior to this set up and its unbelieveble the colour difference.
Love it.

Just wondering how one goes about choosing bulbs. A different Canreef sponsor recommended 2 actinics, 2 daylight bulbs
and 4 aqua-blue plus.

Not sure either, someone told me that the 4 blues and 4 11k's is a standard set up, so thats what i went with. I've been told that a combo of blues, purples and whites works as well but the set up i have seems to be working, a bunch of aiptasia is showing up, but Im sorting that out. (vinegar)

Be careful using vinegar that you don't cause a pH crash. That would nuke your tank pretty quickly. Shooting boiling water at aiptasia or joe's Juice works really well too, and both are safer alternatives.

Choosing bulbs is just personal choice. Blues are different than actinic though.

Thanks, I was a little apprehensive to shoot a bunch a vinegar in my tank, probably just going to break down and buy some aiptasia x, or joes juice.

Sorry about calling the Actinics I bought blue bulbs, I'm new. The bulbs are blue and figured they were one in the same.

I'm trying to sort out the difference between LPS and SPS, which is turning out to be a bit of a gongshow.

I did the boiling water directly to the aiptasia with a syringe. Worked great! Mine were not huge though so don't know if works on larger ones.
