![]() Instead of uitlizing the excellent IMAX technology to showcase the beauty of living reefs, the makers of the film used the opportunity to promote their own brand of green propaganda, including the obligatory references to global warming, etc...
The movie turned out to be a rather disappointing look at the trouble reefs are in, with surprisingly little of the footage one might hope for. It failed to drive home their point with any conviction, and at the same time failed to show the splendour that is truly worth saving. IMO - They should have used their film to capture a record of the reefs at this point in time, because there are still healthy and intact reefs that are awe-inspiring, and serve as their own best PR. To showcase them in all their glory, and THEN show the harm caused by loggin, blasting, etc, would have had far greater impact. But yeah, I wouldn't pay to see it again. I think they squandered a huge opportunity, and in my eyes that is irresponsible. But they have their own agenda... And I guess I'm repeating myself....
