![]() hello,
i have just set up a new thirty gallon tank. i have a 120, but i had to downsize until the new house is built. i set up a 30 gallon when i first set it up i used crused coral on the bottom and life rock. put a few corals in but it did not last long. anyone know why?. i am running a protein skimmer hob type and a 75 hob filter and a power head this time i changed 20 percent water and took out crused coral and using sand. and only a few pieces of live rock how many fish will this tank hold. i looked on you tube and some ppl have like 15 fish in a tank this size including a foxface etc how many can i get in this tank safe?\ also any info on why tank did not survive the first time? |

![]() We have a 30 gallon tank and have been told for a fish only tank the rule is 1" of fish per 3 gallons - so 10" of fish. For a reef tank the rule is 1" of fish per 6 gallons - so 5" of fish. I've heard of people having more though so who knows...

![]() How new is the tank??
also as for fish i wouldn't put more than 3 fish in it. as for a foxface, thats way to small for them |
