Default airflow in enclosed mh fixtures

I am replacing a fan and am just curious on airflow direction in an enclosed 250mh fixture. Should the air be pushed out or sucked in generally? There is only 1 fan. Thank you!

I would have the airflow out of the fixture to keep the salty air out.

I would also have it sucking the air out.

Does the fixture have slots on top? If so, pushing the air in and allowing convection to extract the rising hot air out the top would make the most sense.
