Default electrical genius's question deux

I have a 175 W M light that is flickering. it starts normally get to full brightness but then it pulses. I suspect it to be about 3-4 pulses per second. Has anyone had this problem before and more important does anyone know how to fix it?

thanks

ross

It can happen if the wrong ballast is use on a bulb, but usually happens on older bulbs. Try turning the bulb slightly in the socket so as to change the position of the inner envelope of the bulb. This will usually do the trick.

Actually the ballast is toast. In electonics there is a saying....every component contains a certain amount of smoke..and once you let all the smoke ...it's toast.

It let all the smoke out today
