![]() Hi everyone,
my niece finally bought a bigger SW tank completely stocked, but the thing is it is in Edmonton (she lives in Calgary). Will the fish be okay travelling 3-4hrs in bags or should she transport them some other way. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Angela |

![]() You can get this stuff to put in the water (makes the water blue/green) to oxygenate the water during shipping. I dont know what its called check with a LFS they might have some. Remember that fish do get shipped from around the world and still live.... IMO i would think they will be ok.

![]() Use compressed air in the bag just before you rubber band it and the fish will be fine.

![]() some lfs will bag em up for you. Call around and see if any stores close to where she is will do that, bucket the fish for the quick ride to the LFS and then have them use compressed air like was already mentioned. Load into styrofoam box (also mentioned, I like to line my styrofoam box with newspaper as well) and you should be good to go
** to clarify, if you get the fish packed etc for you at a LFS, they'll be using oxygen...**

Use oxygen, that's what they bag fish with for long haul shipping. EDIT: Just realized they will only be bagged for like 4 hours... just use normal clean air and keep them warm. Oxygen is only needed if they are large fish in relatively small bags or they will be bagged for long periods of time (like shipping to someone).
