Default Coralife Aqualight pendant

Anyone using the round black 150w HQI version of these. Thinking of putting one over my 20g sps tank.

I can get one at a reasonable price and like the adjustable cable for height & acclimation. Thinking I would dump the 10k bulb though for a 20K Radium or possibly a Phoenix.

I used one on a customers tank. It only had lps and softies in the tank. I don't know if it would have enough punch for sps. I had a frogspawn close to the surface and it did not seem to be getting too much light.

i tested a 150w coralife light with my par meter and it very low in output as far as i thought, im shure the ballast is a big part of the issue
i definatly would try something different if your keeping sps

They now have a 250w 14000k version. Seen one at Big Als today.

Ok, thanks guys. Just asked about that particular unit, as I could get a good deal on one but will go a different route.

I help to maintain the reef tank at UNBC and it has two of those pendants. They seem pretty cheep and flimsy like inexpensive plastic toys. But I think that’s how all of Coralife’s products are so I’m a little bit bias. Send a few dollars more and get something of better quality.
