SOLD: 120 Volt HEAVY duty Float Switch $50
This is a float switch that will TURN OFF whatever is plugged to it when the float rises to a certain level. I used this in a 5g bucket that was collecting my skimmate. My skimmer was plugged into this float switch. If something happens that makes my skimmer go crazy and it starts to skim like crazy and overflow, then this switch will shut the skimmer pump off when it rises to around the 2-3 gallon mark in the bucket.
It has SAVED MY BUTT about 15-20 times in the past. It only take one overflow to make you realize this is probably a good investment. Its heavy duty rated at 13 amps continuous and 85 amps at power startup.
