Do a virus scan ASAP! I'm not saying that is the cause but there is a nasty IE vulnerability found this week and the bad guys are being quick to exploit it.

http://www.pcworld.com/businesscente...erability.html

Also check your event viewer it should contain any errors relating to crashing or non responsive applications. Event viewer can be found via CONTROL PANEL->ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS->EVENT VIEWER.

Good luck.
Keith.

Reboot again. Or uninstall the update and see if that fixes it. I haven't run into IE issues on XP or Vista from December updates. Look in your event log for the kb number.
If it's still an issue, post OS, browser version and patch number(s).

Sorry Doug, I'm used to talking to techs all day

OS=operating system, XP or Vista?
Browser version= IE 6 or 7
The event viewer will show which patches were installed, identified by the KB (knowledge base) number.
