Default Nanaimo LFS

I have a day trip to Nanaimo next week, and was wondering if there are any saltwater shops I should visit? I've been to the one in Duncan, but not Nanaimo. Thanks in advance.

I'm not aware of any SW stores in Nanaimo at all. I think there is a store in the Rutherford Mall (I think they've renamed it Nanaimo North Center or something) but they only have a couple of tanks of SW fish, I haven't been there since they started carrying SW fish and that was over a year ago so I'm not sure if they're still doing it. Theres supposed to be a new store opening in town but not until July. I'm waiting with bated breath

OK, thanks Christy. Strange that a city the size of Nanaimo has no SW.

Yeah Nanaimo had a couple SW stores a number of years ago. Olivers decided it was too much work and the couple made it a drygoods only store. The other store was pretty much driven into the ground by bad business practices. Sad really. I've been driving down to Duncan for all my SW stuff if I'm not over in Vancouver to stock up. I'm really looking forward to this new store opening, hopefully it will do well

I remember a store in the area of the tally-ho & arena, that had limited salt water stuff. (but that was a while back)

Yeah that was My Fish Tank. He had SW stuff for awhile but I think eventually got out of it. The store has a new owner now but I'm not sure if they're going to get into SW at all.

Christy, did the new store open? And if so, how and where is it?

They're in Victoria, not Nanaimo
