Default The Dark Knight

I was actually surprised not to find any TDK threads yet. Or maybe I am just that big of a nerd.

So, whose seen in? Thoughts, comments??
I'm ashamed to admit that I have seen this movie three times already, and am lining up tickets for an IMAX showing this weekend. Yes, I am a batman nerd.

If your hesitant to see this movie, forget about it! It's amazing. Worth $12.50 just to see Heath Ledger's performance. Outstanding film! Best movie I have seen since The Departed, and of course, Batman Begins.

I enjoyed Dark Knight but thought they dragged it out a bit too long.

They could've ended the movie at several points & the whole thing wouldn't have been poorer for it.

Visual effects were pretty seamless & there was actually a story line for once!

If you enjoyed Batman Begins then you'd like Dark Knight.

For me though, the best thing about The Dark Knight was The Watchmen Trailer before the movie!

That Watchmen Trailer is very very cool. I remember seeing this graphic novel but never have read it. Appears I should change that.

Haven't seen it yet. But I'll be watching the IMAX version. I watched Batman Begins in IMAX as well.

It was excellent. 3 full hours long, and you did feel it, but it wasn't unenjoyably long. It should be mentioned that the movie is VERY dark, and it weighed heavily on me. It didn't give you a break; no happy Hollywood moment. But it was all the more honest and true to itself for that very reason.

Highly recommended. I'm guessing Heath with at the very least be nominated for an Oscar.

Totally agree - Dark Knight was VERY dark!

Heath was outstanding. A truly menacing, twisted, unpredictable & relentlessly evil Joker compared to Jack Nicholson's camped up psychotic clown.

I also liked the reference to Jerry Maguire

On another note...

I thought I bumped into the ghost of Heath Ledger a couple of months ago at work!

He looked exactly like him!

Turns out they were shooting The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus in Vancouver & he was Heath's double!

I'm looking forward to that one too...

I like Terry Gilliam & the cast is intriguing. (Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Tom Waits, Jude Law, Christopher Plumber & even mini-me Verne Troyer)

Yes indeed, super dark movie. At some points I honestly questioned the PG rating? I also think this movie would blow over kid's head's so quickly. Quite a sophisticated, complex movie. A real gritty crime movie... I am already anticipating the DVD release

PS: Did anyone catch this in IMAX?

It can't be full blown 3D IMAX (Beowolf style), but is it Harry Potter style 3D IMAX? (3D for only a few mins) or just reformatted for an IMAX screen?

I saw it in IMAX; it isn't a 3-D movie, though. There are only a few scenes that appeared to be shot in IMAX, the rest was up-converted. It looks fantastic throughout. I really liked it.
