Default CRAP, my first 5g spill

makin up some water for a water change. Only have a Mag 3 for a mix pump. Went for nap, pump shifted, and pumped the whole 5g bucket out ofer the edge while I was napping. plus side, the carpet soaked up most of it LOL

150g reef, 55g sump, T5's, Vertech 200A, Profilux III - German made is highly over rated, should just say Gerpan made.

Reefkeeper - individual obsessed with placing disturbing amounts of electricity and seawater in close proximity for the purpose of maintaining live coral reef organisms.

When I was building my reef tank, I wanted to test the system out with fresh water to make sure everything was cool. I did the whole thing myself, drilling the tank, building the overflows and sump, so wanted to test things out slowly. I started off by filling the sump with the garden hose. I used the return pump to fill the display tank. Problem was my return pump was draining the sump faster than I had the water coming out the hose. So up the stairs I run and bump up the pressure in the hose.......Yup, you guessed it, the increase in pressure shot the hose out of the sump and sprayed everything in my basement. TV,desktop pc, laptop....everything. Needless to say the g/f was none to impressed when she came home to find me frantically trying to hide my boneheaded move.oh....no leaks in the tank

Couple dumb moves for me:

- when i rented in an apartment (2nd floor) and kept frontosas in a 45 gallon glass tank I was moving some big rock pieces around. The tip of a piece i was holding came free and the rock fell and broke the bottom out. Drained the tank in about 10 seconds. Saved all the fish but really gave the guy downstairs a scare when i knocked frantically, all wet and asking what he kept under my livingroom. Used all the clothes, bedding etc i had to mop up. Mom wasn't impressed when i came to do laundry.

- another time i left a 20 gallon plastic garbage can mixing in my basement. I think a cat knocked it over although i had bought the one with WHEELS (smrt!) and that was a big mess.

- was filling another container when the tank was still upstairs with RO/DI and forgot it. It overflowed down my cold-air return and landed in the litter box downstairs. MESS!

Now my new tank is in the livingroom. Who's less smart...me or the wife!? lol.

Wet dry awesome, I got a huge one for the shop. Use it to suck up powder. Used the wifes carpet cleaner to suck up this spill. BAD move. she came home, saw me vacuuming and said AHA, I knew you knew how to use that LOL
