Default rodi question

i just set up a kent maxxis rodi unit and was wondering if its normal for some water to still come out of the waste water line for a minute or so after you turn the water to the unit off. it slowly trickles to a stop for around a minute. and also the instructions say that when it is not in use you have to keep the waste hose and the water product hose above the unit but i already set my waste hose into a drain and was wondering if it is ok to just have a small section of the waste hose a few inches above the unit to stop drainage and if you guys think that is sufficient enough?

Normal.

Not sure about keeping the hoses above the unit...I'd like to hear other people's input on that, as I don't store my lines higher than the unit.

If the lines aren't permanently attatched, this will stop any siphoning and a possible mess
