Fish tank up and running!

My tank is finally up. Big thanks to all those who offered advice when I ran into trouble. So far, things are doing great. I'm not a very good aquascaper so if there are suggestions, I would love to hear them.

tank looks great so far, as far as aqua scaping goes if you're into arches/caves you can use the biggest pieces as bases and do some pretty neat scaping with that much rock, heres an interesting article about a.scaping

Is your blue tang a regal tang or an atlantic blue tang? How big is that tank of yours?

Thanks for the link. I actually drew out what I was looking for. Didn't really turn out that way. I did manage to put a number of caves in there. I also put together some egg crates and made two big caves that two of the clownfish hanging out in.

A regal tang. Unfortunately the tang developed lateral line disease. I have searched through articles but have been unable to cure it. The tank is a 90 gal w/ 33 gal sump.

Your tang has HLLE? What do you feed?

There seems to be some research that indicates that a varied diet wards off HLLE, and can help heal it, provided it hasn't gone to far. Make sure you provide your tang lots of grazing food, nori, in any color. Frozen foods are good too, but shouldn't be the bulk of your tang's diet. Prepared foods are good too, however there has been some recent discussion about the gel in some of these foods, and how it impacts your fish. Same goes for flake foods, there is debate about how its prepared/made.

Any photos of your tang and its disease?

He's had it for well over a year now. Most of his head area has rotted. But he is still a very active fish. I use to just feed Flakes, pellets, freeze dried brine shrimp, Dried Krill and Dried Plankton (Krill and Plankton they don't like much). I have now added Cyclopeeze, Pellets w/ garlic, and sometimes nori. I'm also soaking the dry food in Selcon before feeding. I've read some of the DIY seafood recipes which I will try out soon.

I'll take a photo for you of the tang tonight when I'm home.

Try offering more nori, and continue with your changes to its diet.

Speaking of homemade food, I'm just preparing to put up another post about making some of mine. Just an FYI kind of thing.

Very nice set up, just wait until you start seeing little bits of coraline growing and then you will good to go . As far as Aquascaping goes in a tank like that your going to need a little more live rock (preferably smaller pieces for better arangment). May I ask why you went sandless?

I have three more med sized rocks in my sump. I could probably break those up into smaller chunks. I was hoping to provide more swimming space.
I was just thinking this morning that I wanted sand because it looks so much nicer IMO and that I could possibly make it work. But the reason why I didn't setup a sandbed was that there were too many mixed opinons. Such as:

So I decided that I wasn't experienced enough to try. Perhaps later on if I decide to build another system
