Default Anemone Questions

Just a few questions about anemones. I've heard that a tank has to be running for at least 4 months before getting one. Why is this? Do clownfish HAVE to have anemones to survive? When I do get one, how do you put it in the tank without getting stung? Do other fish know to stay away from them or will they get killed? And finally will they eat emerald crabs or cleaner shrimp?

Anemone's need a stable system to live in, and a mature system is more stable than a new system.

Clowns do not need an anemone to survive. There are a couple of species that will naturally host to an anemone, some will learn and some will never learn.

Most fish have the instinct to stay away from them.

I have 3 of them in my tank, I've never had problems with mine eating anything that it wasn't supposed to.

What kind of lighting do you have over the tank?
