![]() I put an old school Lee CCS in my fuge a couple days ago. The tank is in the bedroom and the airpump is annoying me at night. I was thinking about putting it on a timer so it only skims during the day. Will only skimming 14-16 hours per day cause any problems with the tank, will it be of any benefit? Does anyone know about how to set this thing for maximum benefits? I have no instructions.
The skimmate it produces at the moment is thin watery green tea looking stuff. TIA Brad |

![]() Thats about all the lee's will produce. As long as you are doing regular water changes running the skimmer part time should be ok. I'd think about getting a better skimmer though. I was running a lee's, and now a SS65. What a difference in skimate. this stuff is almost black!

![]() Looks like nice stuff out of the ss65. Not much in the tank a few SPS frags, couple of sun coral polyps, few snails, and a cleaner shrimp, fed every couple days. Just playing around with the skimmer, regular water changes Saturday's. Learning about skimmers. When I find a better option I will upgrade, little space available and noise is a major factor on this tank. Thanks for the input Starry.
