![]() Has any one using a coil denitrator? or a Korallin denitrator? Please comment. Besides water changes, what is your best method to control nitrate? Thanks.

![]() I built one. worked wonders. took about 3 weeks to cycle, but after that 3 weeks, it took about 3more to get my nitrates down from 160ppm to 15ppm.

![]() I built a massive one using a piece of 10" pipe, and 400 feet of 1/4" tubing. It was just starting to work when I took it off line. I decided to go with a fuge instead, and didn't have the room for both. I can say that it did start to work, but to what extent i'm not sure of. I have recently made a nitrate reactor which uses Matrix for media. It has a much smaller footprint, and has 340sq.ft. of surface area (equivalent to over 20 gals of bio balls) Its too early to tell if its working, and the nitrates are 0ppm anyway, but i figgure its better safe than sorry.

![]() Thanks Mark and Scumchug for your information. I may try to DIY one coil denitrator, but it may take me forever to finish this project.
